How you can help in school
Steeple Claydon School and Preschool lies at the heart of the Steeple Claydon community and it benefits from lots of helpers.
The help we receive from parents / carers and volunteers is invaluable and is much appreciated by staff and children. It also shows the value that families place in children’s learning and children benefit from this. Parents, carers or family members who are interested in helping in school, and who have the necessary free time, should contact us.
Parents / carers and volunteers can help in many different ways, including:
Safeguarding
All volunteers who work in school need to complete our Volunteer Application Form, have a short interview and have been checked in line with government guidelines for Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks – this is to ensure that we have followed all of the Safeguarding procedures appropriately for the recruitment of adults in school. In order to keep our children safe and to meet our duty of care – this process must be rigorous.
Local businesses have built up links with our school and we also value their help. Learners from local high schools gain work experience by helping in school – we are always delighted to have many requests from our past pupils. Our children benefit from seeing positive role models make such worthwhile contributions.
